Cremation

In accordance with John's wishes, he is being cremated at Golders Green Crematorium at 10am on Wednesday 30 January. He specified that he did not want either a funeral or memorial service. Accordingly, we will mark the occasion with a selection of music.

During his time as a GP in Pimlico, John worked closely with a local homeless charity. The care of the most vulnerable was very important to him and he often reflected upon the stark contrasts he witnessed is his medical practice. During the same period, John worked as one of the medical officers at Trinity Hospice, on Clapham Common https://www.royaltrinityhospice.london/welcome-to-royal-trinity-hospice and became a strong advocate of the then nascent palliative care movement.

Hence, we would ask you to consider making a donation to either to St Mungo's https://www.mungos.org/about-us/our-history/ or Royal Trinity Hospice as a remembrance gesture in place of buying flowers.
